Job Description This position will perform a variety of accounting functions supporting the Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller and the Accounting Department as a whole.
These duties require a considerable level of professional judgment and analytical ability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare reconciliations of certain bank accounts.
This process involves researching entries to various accounts and communicating with the sites and corporate departments to ensure appropriate classifications.
Prepare and review monthly and quarterly excise taxes.
Stay current on applicable tax laws and research changes in tax law as required.
Prepare selected journal entries and reconcile selected general ledger accounts.
Make judgments about the adequacy of month-end accruals for certain expenses and record journal entries accordingly.
Analyze financial information and create spreadsheets in Excel to assist with supporting general ledger balances and assumptions.
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Analyze current accounting procedures and recommend changes.
Develop and implement improved accounting procedures.
Where needed, assist with developing accounting policies.
Perform various duties associated with the month-end closing process and other duties as assigned, including assistance with the preparation of month-end financial statements.
Maintain job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and participating in Accounting and Finance professional organizations.
Job Requirements BS or BA in Accounting or related field.
1-2 years of experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must be detail oriented, with problem solving ability, and strong organization skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
) and 10 key.

Work Environment This position will be performed at the Corporate office in Bellevue, WA and is eligible for work from home options.
