Washington state residents impacted by temporary or chronic addiction, mental health and/or HIV/AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases.

Target disparately impacted communities through site expansion operated as a dba of Peer Washington named for location and guided by a charter identifying the target community served.

Maintain safe space for members identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender non-conforming or other sexual minorities at all our locations regardless of the target community.

Services shall be open to any person impacted by addiction, mental health, or HIV/AIDS; however, outreach for each site will be directed toward the community identified in the site charter.

* *Position Summary* Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will inspect and review, but may also prepare and report financial transactions, and budgetary controls for assigned grants, contracts and sites.
Responsible for application of the general accepted accounting principles to instill and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger.
*Primary Responsibilities* * Posts all cash receipts including government contracts, donations, and miscellaneous revenue.
* Monitor Accounts receivable aging and follow up on partial or late payments.
* Maintain Donor database for acknowledgements, audit and 990 reporting.
* Perform month end closing in a timely manner.
* Reconcile general ledger accounts for accuracy and allowability.
* Prepare necessary journal entries to correct errors in posting.
* Work with Grants and Contracts manager to ensure compliance, accurate spend down of federal, state and local grant and contract budgets.
* Provide budget support to management to ensure budget overage and shortages are addressed in a timely manner.
* Provide support for program audits, the annual agency and single audit including preparation of year end schedules and the SEFA as well as the 990.
* Work with management on preparing grants budgets for proposals and once awarded monitor expenses for allowable costs and accurate spend downs.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Required Qualifications* * Expert knowledge of general financial accounting and grant accounting.
* Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
* Proficient with accounting software, knowledge and experience with Sage Intacct a plus * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
* Knowledge and commitment to cultural diversity.
*Education and Experience:* * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 10+ years of experience with a minimum of 2 years in non-profit.
P*hysical Requirements:* * Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

*Compensation* * $78,770 - $88,916 DOE * Bi-annual bonus potential * Paid Vacation Time – 3 weeks per year, accrued at 4.
615hrs per biweekly pay period, 120-hour maximum annual carryover.
* Paid Sick Time accrued at 4.

* Three personal days per calendar year.
* 13 paid holidays per calendar year.
