Guardian Security is currently looking for an Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist in the Seattle office! Guardian Security was founded in 1976, and we have been serving the people of the Pacific Northwest with their security and fire protection needs since then - for over 40 years! We are locally owned and operated, with four offices located in Yakima, Tacoma, Bellingham, and in the SODO district of Seattle.
This position is *fully in office* at our Seattle location.
Working days are M-F, hours are 7:30-4:30 with some flexibility.
*Position Summary:*
Performs basic to intermediate Accounts Receivable and Collections duties.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Sorts, opens, and distributes incoming mail.
* Processes Check Deposits Daily, and posts payments to customer accounts.
* Handles most issues when payments do not match customer accounts.
* Assists teammates with lunch coverage for phone calls.
* Posts customer return checks, adjustments, credits, and refunds when needed.
* Calls, emails or mail communications to customers regarding past due invoices.
* Creates and updates customer records.
* Answers questions and resolves any discrepancies for payments, coordinating with other teams as needed.
* Assists both the Customer Care and Collection Teams resolving payment related issues.
* Performs other accounting or customer related tasks and projects as assigned.
* Assist with basic office management tasks, supply orders, stocking, organizing, etc.

* 1 ~ 2 years of experience in accounting related field (preferred)

Computer Skills:*
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be:
* Proficient with MS Office Suite, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel.
* Familiar with Sedona, the in-house accounting software, is a plus.
*Physical Demands:*
This Job is 99% sedentary and it uses fingers, hands, and arms when working with a mouse, keyboard, and monitors.
Close vision and distance vision are necessary.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally will lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
