Seattle Aviation Solutions, LLC is a Redmond, Washington company providing aerospace parts and supplies, distribution and repair management services to a variety of private, commercial and military aviation organizations.
The Company was founded in 2017 and has grown rapidly through its relationships with domestic and international customers and business partners.
*Position Overview*
The Controller is a key management position responsible for all aspects of transaction processing in the areas of:
· Customer invoicing and collection
· Vendor payments, including initiating wire transfers
· Inventory cost and controls
· Employee payroll and benefits
· Federal and multiple state tax reporting and compliance
The Controller leads the Finance and Accounting team for Seattle Aviation Solutions, plus the related, but smaller entities Four Star Accessory Overhaul in Tumwater and National Aviation in Seattle.
The Controller is also responsible for organizational data integrity and maintaining and supporting the Company accounting information systems, which utilize Accounting Seed software.
The position reports directly to the VP/Chief Operating Officer, and also works closely with the Company’s part-time contract CFO, as well as other members of the management team.
*Key Responsibilities and Duties*
In addition to transaction processing and accounting system management, the Controller’s responsibilities and duties include:
· Manage the staff of three accountants located in Dubai
· Develop and adhere to policies and procedures
· Monthly financial close and reconciliation of all general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers
· Bank relationships and compliance reporting
· Preparation of annual strategic plan and budget
· Ensuring periodic physical inventory/cycle counts are completed and reviewed
· Developing policy, procedures, internal controls and best practices to support the business
· Ensuring all compliance reports are prepared at federal, state, and local levels including B&O tax reporting, sales and use tax reporting, business registrations and license filings
· Managing all property, liability and casualty insurance coverages
· Providing support and guidance to human resources personnel for: payroll and benefit systems including retirement plan administration
· Work with external accountants to prepare timely, accurate and complete work paper support for financial statement reviews and tax return preparation
· File federal and state tax returns and submit income tax payments
· Continual search for improvements of financial operations and development of KPIs for Finance, Sales and Warehouse management
*Education/Experience/Knowledge*
· Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in accounting or finance from four-year college or university preferred
· Five or more years of progressive financial management responsibilities
· CPA or CMA license is preferred but not required
· Ability to summarize and communicate key financial information
· Strong technology skills including use of ERP software (particularly Accounting Seed) and Excel
· Payroll processing using external payroll service provider
· Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
· Professional presence, strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work cross functionally throughout the organizations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $125,000.
00 - $140,000.
