Our Retail Segment operates twelve tasting rooms across 4 states along with E-commerce and direct-to-consumer sales channels.
The Tasting Rooms span eight unique brands of Precept’s owned production, and websites comprise an even more expanded portfolio.
The Retail Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting and reporting for the retail business segment.
They will be in continual communication with other members of the Accounting Team along with the Vice President of Retail Sales, Tasting Room Managers, and Fulfillment Teams.
They will also be responsible for maintaining the retail sales infrastructure in concert with 3rd party POS, Payment Processing, and Shipment Systems personnel.
About the Position:
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly Retail Financial Statements for 15+ Retail components.
Perform month-end closing processes including reconciliations, accruals, and revenue recognition evaluations.
Monitor accuracy and effectiveness of POS Software to ensure the integrity of data transfers into accounting software.
Create location-based budgets and evaluate performance through budget variance analysis.
Provide relevant financial insights, including profitability and process evaluations, to Retail Managers, VPs, and Accounting Leadership.
Professionally communicate process memos to Tasting Room members and effectively guide them in best practices.
Review reconciliations, tie outs, and entries of Staff Accountant; effectively manage their workload and work quality.
Report directly to the Accounting Supervisor and take on new projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
BA or BS in Accounting
3+ years of accounting experience, including financial reporting.
Advanced excel skills.
Self-motivated and proactive, with desire to improve and adapt processes.
Exhibits strong time management skills and is eager to untangle complexities.
Conveys professional written and oral communication and has advanced Excel proficiency.

Full time employment
In-office preferred; considerations for remote work considered on a case-by-case basis.
Technology platforms include Microsoft Navision, Shopify, OrderPort, and FIS Global.
Salary Range $75,000-$85,000, dependent on experience
