Job Summary:
The Financial Analyst plays an important role in helping Lifelong achieve its strategic initiatives, providing valuable insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and financial planning.
This is a high visibility role that will require someone who can think strategically and partner with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cadences and in facilitating data-driven analysis.
This position reports to the CFO and is a member of the Finance team.
Essential Duties: Conduct detailed monthly review of budget vs.
actual results and investigate and analyze significant variances at a department and contract level.
Analyze current and past trends and provide recommendations in response to fluctuations to help management understand and answer critical business issues and questions.
Assist the CFO in performing analysis and preparing trend reporting for management and Board.
Develop financial models and analysis using advanced analytical techniques and financial systems.
Participate in and support the Agency’s annual budget process; analyze historical trends.
Prepare contract-specific budgets and projections; perform Agency-wide revenue and expenditure projections.
Support identification and development of automated reporting and forecasting tools for efficient use of data.
Coordinate with Finance team members to research and correct errors in financial data.
Assist budget owners in understanding the business and financial impact of various scenarios.
Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes; effectively accomplish assigned duties/tasks by coordinating with teammates and other end users.
Other duties as assigned.
Core Competencies: Intermediate to advanced level Excel skills Strong analytical skills with attention to detail Ability to formulate recommendations and interpret financial data Ability to collaborate and explore alternative solutions Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology Ability to work independently on multiple projects and communicate status of projects to key decision makers on a proactive basis Uses initiative and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities within the framework of departmental policies and procedures Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred or equivalent experience Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience including financial planning and analysis and/or budgeting, preferably in a not-for-profit environment Work Environment: Full-time.
Can be remote or hybrid position.
