Opportunity Overview: Senior Grant & Revenue Accountant The Senior Grant & Revenue Accountant supports the end to end financial functions related to grants and other associated contracts.
This position will ensure appropriate internal controls are in place, and all accounting procedures and grant management standards are followed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the organization’s reported financials.
This position also supports preparing monthly invoices, grants receivable, financial statement and grant reconciliation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and support the financial aspects of the grant portfolio.
Support Resource Development (RD) and Club staff applying for grants by providing financial data and support relevant to the grant requests and RFPs.
Review contract proposals, build budgets and provide input and suggestions for successful grant requests.
Establish general ledger codes for new grants to appropriately capture revenue and expenses in compliance with contract and grant requirements.
Prepare and submit invoices with financial back-up and all required financial reports to agencies.
Oversee tracking of revenue and expenses booked in the general ledger in proper periods, against contract amounts and resolves discrepancies with business units.
Manage quarterly reconciliations to ensure no overbilling during contract lifecycle.
Provide training to staff throughout the organization in matters involving grant tracking, grant billings, reporting etc.
Monitor various federal guidelines to ensure organization is compliant and train staff on relevant guidelines.
Submit grant reports and billings to Controller for review and approval.
Ensure that the organization’s grants receivable (A/R) are being properly reviewed in a timely manner.
This would consist of accruing grant A/R, adjusting grant A/R, and evaluating and acting upon outstanding balances.
Anticipate and communicate any and all deadlines pertaining to grants.
Identifies areas for continuous process improvement and incorporates any agency compliance changes into team processes.
Provide leadership for fiscal portion of funder audits of grants and contracts.
Engage in the organization’s budget process to ensure that relevant expenses are budgeted and coded accordingly.
Participate in monthly, quarterly and yearly closing procedures.
Manage with support from Controller the Single Audit.
Assist with annual financial audit preparations.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Minimum of 5 years’ experience in any accounting or finance department.
Minimum 2-3 year experience with grant accounting.
Non-Profit experience preferred.
Working knowledge of GAAP requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or financial management required.
Must have keen to detail and organized.
Ability to cooperate with all level employees, management, clients, and external agencies to increase profits and maximize performance.
Proficient with Microsoft office, use of the internet, Workbooks and other accounting software.
Experience with MIP Accounting software preferred.
HOURS: Full-time LOCATION: Club Service Center, 603 Stewart Street, Suite 300, Seattle, Washington, 98101 SALARY RANGE: $70,000 - $85,000 DOE FLSA: Salaried, Exempt All offers are contingent upon passing a thorough background check including a National Criminal History Background check.
Physical Requirements: Long periods of being in a stationary position; operating a computer and other office equipment; frequently moving to/from various work areas; frequently communicating by phone and email; frequently remaining in a stationary position during meetings, discerning meeting content, expressing oneself, and exchanging accurate information; frequently moving to/from off-site meeting and/or event locations; occasionally moves supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
Working Conditions: This position is hybrid which requires working in the office 2-3 days a week and the remainder is working from hom.
