General Summary: The Director of Accounting oversees the day-to-day activities of the finance team and ensures the company’s accounting, reporting, and controls functions are organized and efficient and produce accurate financial and management accounts.
The Director maximizes the return on financial assets by establishing optimum financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
Job Responsibilities: Core Accountabilities: Ensure that company books and records are accurately stated and are in compliance with accounting principles.
Controllership of monthly and year end closing, accounts payable, budgets, reporting, reconciliation, auditing, and store compliance.
Oversee Inventory control Sales Audit, Accounts Payables, Accounts receivables and general accounting.
Provide A/P, Inventory Accounting and Lease Accounting expertise to the finance organization and other EB departments.
Oversee, maintain, and ensure Accuracy of Balance sheet, Income statement and Cashflow.
Oversee third party credit card processing, audits, gift card program, general insurance and depository bank accounts, to ensure accurate receivables and merchant fees.
Provides strong leadership, training and supervision to the Accounting team.
Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
Evaluate, develop, document and enforce procedures and internal controls.
Coordinate execution and management of internal and external A/P audits Sets strategic direction related to areas of responsibility.
Operate with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality.
Recruit, identify, develop, and retain talent that delivers performance excellence.
Ad hoc projects as needed Qualifications: Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 7+ years of experience in Accounting 5+ years supervisory experience leading an Accounting and payroll team CPA or CMA, and previous retail industry experience preferred Strong work commitment, high sense of responsibility and ownership, self-motivated and highly organized Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
Experience with office tools: Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, etc Experience with process improvement through systems technology, development, implementation, and training.
Strong communication, critical and logical thinking ability, high execution ability, good professional ethics, rigorous work style, and confidentiality Experience with international business: Exchange rates, Free trade zones, international duties Travel may be required, based on business needs.
Adhere to regular in-office presence, including engaging in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration.
Job duties may be performed effectively using the hybrid work program designated by the company.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as the company retains the right to change duties to this position.
Must have authorization to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards and Company’s policy.
Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day Ability to constantly operate a computer, other office equipment and look at a monitor for up to 8 hours per day Ability to clearly and accurately communicate and exchange information verbally, in writing, or through other means in person, telephonically, or through virtual communication methods Ability to position self to reach at or below shoulder level Requirements & EEO Statement: The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000 annually.
Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to position offered and work experience.
