Seattle Preparatory School is a Catholic, Jesuit college preparatory school with an enrollment of about 790 students in grades 9-12.

Summary:
Seattle Prep seeks a Temporary Controller to join our community.
This is a temporary, leave replacement position and begins Mid-December, 2023 and ends in April, 2024.
Hours of work will range between 25 - 30 each week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors budget implementation by preparing interim reports and analyzing budget variances.
Manage operational cash flow, manage banking, loan and lease agreement and assess and develop plans to meet anticipated financial requirements of the school.
Review weekly batch of invoices for payment; collect proper approval and account coding;
Review and reconcile investment account activity quarterly.
Calculate the draw from investment accounts and book corresponding journal entries.
Ascertain that asset allocation in investment accounts is consistent with policy and work with Investment Committee to make adjustments where necessary
Ensure the School’s ongoing regulatory compliance with the State of Washington for a charitable organization, B & O tax, sales tax, etc.

Manage a four-member staff who directly report to the Temporary Controller.
Minimum Qualifications:
An Bachelor Degree and five years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to Prep’s mission and values, especially as it relates to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
A CPA is preferred.
Are highly skilled in communicating effectively both orally and in writing with employees, peers, supervisors, and customers.
Supportive of the mission of a Catholic, Jesuit high school and formation of the whole person.

Reporting: Reports to the President
Job Classification: Exempt.
This position is not eligible for overtime pay.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000 annually.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, certifications.
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of criminal history background check and Safe Environment training
