SET THE COURSE
The Staff Accountant II role is critical in supporting the Tommy Bahama Accounting Department.
The Staff Accountant II is responsible for fixed asset processing, retail bonus calculations, and financial statement analysis.
Additionally, this role will support month end close and SOX compliance.
BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
Process fixed assets invoices, includes reviewing invoices for coding and cost center accuracy, sales tax, and fixed asset classification and uploading invoices to SAP Fixed Assets module.
Accrue fixed asset invoices and TIA based on percentage of project completion.
Assist various departments to answer fixed asset, CIP, and repair and maintenance related questions.
Provide fixed asset vs.
expense guidance to Construction and Repair and Maintenance teams.
Complete depreciation and CIP reporting and analyses monthly.
On a monthly basis, complete retail bonus preliminary and final calculations and accruals based on bonus plan criteria, using data from multiple sources.
Work closely with Payroll team to validate labor reporting utilized in the bonus calculation, understand labor by location, and issue bonus payments and corrections.
Provide bonus calculation information, including sales and labor by retail location analysis, to Operations Director, Regional Managers, and District Managers.
Assist retail operations partners with bonus, sales, and labor related questions.
Perform a detailed review, analysis, and reconciliation of fixed asset, TIA, and prepaid props & fixtures balance sheet accounts.
Perform month-end, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries and various ad hoc analysis and reporting as required to ensure timely and accurate financial data that is in compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
Support the annual operating budget and reforecast process.
Support the year-end audit as needed.
ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Generally, 2+ years of accounting experience preferably in a retail & wholesale business environment.
Advanced knowledge of Excel.
Experience working with large volumes of data and complex calculations within Excel.
Knowledge of SAP General Ledger and Fixed Asset Modules
Strong organizational and time management skills, serving with a sense of urgency.
Excellent data analysis and trend identifications skills with a focus on problem solving skills.
Close attention to detail and closely supervise department tasks with an eye for improvement.
Good project management skills, taking an initiative from inception to completion and working with cross-functional leaders to define and achieve a successful outcome.
Strong work ethic and integrity
Knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley
Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.
Rate Range: $70,000 to $82,637 annually
