The Accounting Manager monitors and manages the College’s accounting transactions, to ensure accuracy and compliance with WA State and Federal guidelines.
This position has supervisory responsibility for Accounting, Payroll, Student Financials, Cashier, Travel and Expense, and Print Shop/Mailroom staff.
The pay range for this exempt position is $92,000 to $99,000 Annually.
The priority consideration date for this position is on December 11, 2023.
Additionally, this position will stay open until filled.

Manage financial policies and processes consistent with requirements of the Washington State Auditor’s Office (SAO), Office of Financial Management (OFM), GASB, and the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC), for all areas of supervision.
Monitor operations of the ctcLink FIN pillar.
Audit and review daily journals to identify errors, and direct staff in making necessary corrections.
Reconcile accounts and prepare general accounting entries as needed.
Manage and provide direction, supervision, guidance, evaluations, and training, to Business Office Accounting staff (AP/AR/GL), Student Financials, Travel and Expense, Cashiering, and the Print Shop Mailroom Operator.
Ensure that processes, analysis, reconciliations, reporting for each group is timely and accurate.
Prepare and/or analyze various reports for management decision making.
Review processes and procedures and make recommendations for improvement to assure compliance with GAAP,GASB, OFM, SAAM, and SBCTC.
Review and approve all refund requests from campus departments.
Assign and review the retention of daily, monthly, and annual reports, and transaction source documentation.
Develop and implement procedures for records management and provide direction to staff on process.
Manage activities for completion of the college’s monthly, annual, and biennial closing processes, with regard to areas of supervision.
Coordinate with the Director of Finance and Budgeting to provide information for audit compliance.
Perform review of college financial statements, with regard to accounting.
Coordinate and communicate fiscal procedures.
Install and maintain fiscal and accounting system controls to meet standards and requirements of state, federal and other organizations.
Assist with work overload, as needed, within the Business Office.
Serve as Bookstore liaison.
Review and reconcile monthly statements and submit for payment.
Searches for efficiencies and takes the lead on projects to document and streamline processes.
Collaborates with other business office staff to maintain and update the department SharePoint site ensuring electronic resources are current and relevant.
Communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with college employees, departments, and outside agencies.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
