*Position Overview* We are looking for a mid-level *Accountant* who loves to support the day-to-day finance and accounting functions of an entrepreneurial business.
Working on a small team, you will have the opportunity to grow your career by having a wide range of responsibilities and ownership.
We are looking for someone who is detail oriented and organized and has the natural curiosity and problem-solving skills needed to help a small company grow in a sustainable way.
During the first 1-2 months, we would like this position to be in office 4-5 days per week.
Once you are up to speed, we would consider a hybrid role of 3 days/week in office and 2 days/week work from home.

*Responsibilities Include:* * Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including AP, AR, GL account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
* Reconcile various general ledger accounts in the areas of cash, accounts receivable, inventory, and liabilities.
Ensure the accuracy and timely processing of transactions and resolve issues as they occur.
* Conduct thorough account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
* Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
* Execute the month-end closing process with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring timely financial reporting.
* Assist in the preparation for external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
* Back-up payroll processing and HRIS management * Complete special projects as needed.
*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience * 3+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in an entrepreneurial, dynamic environment * Experience with QuickBooks preferred * Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
* High degree of accuracy * High attention to detail and habitual follow-up; able to keep organized while juggling multiple tasks; Able to react quickly to changing circumstances * Have a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic demeanor * Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on Excel * Payroll experience preferred * Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize activities to meet deadlines as required.
*Compensation and Benefits* There are several factors that we consider when determining the pay range for a position, such as market data (compared to companies of similar size, industry and revenue) and internal equity.
To determine where a specific candidate falls in the range, we also consider relevant skills, experience and fit for the position.
The pay range for this position is: $70,000 – $90,000 per year.
Lantern Press offers a comprehensive benefits package and generous time off that includes: * 7 days of PTO, 7 days of Floating Holiday and 7 company paid holidays each year (pro-rated based on start date).

We pay 85-90% of employee-only coverage, and 50-60% of family coverage.
