Summary King County District Court is seeking a Fiscal Specialist Clerk.
We are looking for someone who is an active learner, adaptive, reliable, critical thinker and action-oriented.
Fiscal Specialist Court Clerks provide technical, financial, accounting and/or fiscal support services.
Duties also include basic coding of financial, accounting and/or fiscal information, calculating accounts payable and accounts receivable and cashiering.
Fiscal Specialist Clerks must provide outstanding customer service during stressful situations, have impeccable attention to detail, thrive in a team environment with superb problem-solving skills, and be comfortable interacting with executive-level management and members of the public via telephone or email on a daily basis.
We need Fiscal Specialist Clerks to be committed to continuous learning, open to change with a positive attitude, and be able to succeed in a fast-paced and a culturally-diverse environment.

King County District Court Profile KCDC is the largest and most technologically advanced Court of Limited Jurisdiction in the State of Washington.
It currently processes approximately 200,000 matters per year with 25 elected judges and roughly 260 employees at 8 courthouse locations.
The Court is a leader in many areas involving public safety and access to justice, including the use of problem-solving courts, jail-alternative programs, technology- and judge-managed probation services.
Fourteen cities contract with King County for court services provided by KCDC.
Job Duties Provide specialized and/or technical information that requires moderate interpretation of established policies, procedures, and guidelines to internal and/or external customers.
Some incumbents may have to deal with sensitive and/or potentially volatile situations.
Perform basic numerical calculations involving accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashiering, reconciliation of accounts, monitoring of routine expenditures, and/or other applications.
Perform basic data entry and auditing of financial, accounting and/or fiscal information.
Establish, maintain, modify, retrieve, and track financial, accounting and/or fiscal information using a variety of methods.
Enter, obtain and/or verify financial, accounting and/or fiscal information following established defined methods and guidelines.
Provide technical assistance to customers regarding appropriate and applicable codes, policies, regulations, and laws.
Compile data that may require information searches through files, contracts, records, or computer files, including spreadsheets and/or customized database applications.
Compose, draft, type and/or word process, proofread and edit documents, and/or correspondence.
Process mailings and documents that may require attaching related correspondence or information; select mail to handle personally where the response requires specialized knowledge of the assigned function; identify priority and/or time-sensitive matters; and maintain security and confidentiality.
Review and follow desk procedures, suggesting revisions when needed, to ensure accuracy.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Experience providing excellent customer service in person and via telephone while demonstrating discretion, patience, etiquette, and professionalism.
Knowledge of basic accounting and mathematics.
Ability to learn and use specialized terminology relevant to the position.
Previous experience using software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Previous experience demonstrating attention to detail and staying on task.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external customers.
Experience demonstrating organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to take initiative and adapt to changes in workload demand as needed.
Previous experience conducting research as well as problem solving.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and move and/or lift up to 10 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office environment with a moderate amount of noise (computers, printers, light traffic).
This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Work schedule: One Regular position working a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday.
