Johnson Barrow, a leading HVAC manufacturer representative in the Pacific Northwest, is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team.
With offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia, Johnson Barrow represents over 50 HVAC manufacturers, providing efficient and economical heating and cooling solutions.
Responsibilities:
Reconcile and manage balance sheet general ledger accounts for multiple legal entities.
Maintain monthly detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
Assist in the preparation of documentation for external auditors.
Assist with the consolidation of multiple legal entities for financial reporting purposes.
Interact with internal departments and outside affiliates to develop/implement accounting system functions to meet reporting demands.
Ensure proper percent of complete revenue recognition calculation through WIP report.
Assist with forecasts and budgeting process.
Process and reconcile intercompany transactions and eliminations.
Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and other team members, including senior leadership.
Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Conduct monthly and year-end close processes, reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems and tools.
4-6 years of experience in accounting, construction industry preferred.
A strong command of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with Microsoft’s Business Central a plus.
Advanced Excel skills.
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a CPA designation is a plus.
Versatility, adaptability, and enthusiasm in the face of changing priorities and schedules.
A self-starter mentality, with the ability to work independently or with a team.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy with a strong attention to detail.

Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive salary of +/- $90,000 annually
