Job Title: Staff Accountant
Reports to: CFO
Overview: The Staff Accountant position will work in a team-based environment assisting the CFO and other accounting staff with finance functions for the Company.
This position is primarily tasked with preparing control documents, monthly reports, journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting with audits.
This is a key role within the company ensuring the maintenance of a healthy financial profile that will assist in the growth and success of the organization.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
* Update cash balances daily (bank and book)
* Prepare financial statements as required
* Month end support – Bank reconciliations, recurring entries, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.
* Project start-up activities.
* Prepare state and local tax returns.
* Assist CFO with developing appropriate reporting for the executive team and project teams.
* Assist in preparing materials for internal and external audits (governmental, insurance, owners, etc).
* Provide back up support for all payroll functions (including government and union reporting).
* Provide back up support for all of credit card processing.
* Provide back up support for AP (subcontract and non-subcontract) processing.
* Provide back up support for Owner Billings (including Project compliance requirements)
* Make suggestions and implement process changes to improve departmental and company-wide efficiency.
* Help maintain Accounting Policy & Procedure Manuals.
* Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 3+ years of experience in core accounting processes (construction industry preferred)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, and accounting software.
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of company personnel.
* Excellent organizational skills with an ability to multi-task with a wide variety of responsibilities and projects.
* Exhibits critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an accurate attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,800.
00 - $81,120.
