Hauser Jones & Sas, a full-service CPA firm located in Bellevue, WA, provides audit, tax, accounting, and consulting services to a diverse range of industries specializing in financial institutions and banking.
Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking motivated, hands-on, self-starter interns for busy season and summer.
Areas that you will work and learn in could include:
Tax:
Organize and scan client documentation.
Assist with tax return preparation for individual tax returns.
Learn to research tax law, rules and regulations and analyze their application to specific real-world situations.
Potential exposure to business tax preparation.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed.
Prioritizing and completing tasks in a fast-paced environment driven by tax deadlines and high-quality client service.
Audit:
Participates in the engagement planning process.
Performs audit procedures on financial statement account balances, prepares and adjusts work papers from clients’ trial balance.
Researches accounting issues.
Recognizes potential problem areas in specific engagements and discusses them with engagement supervisor.
Identifies potential management letter comments.
Performs other accounting, auditing, and consulting duties as needed.
Client Accounting Services:
Interact with clients on a professional basis.
Work in various accounting programs with a focus in QuickBooks.
Handle various client accounting needs.
Prepare appropriate state returns with regard to payroll and income.
Working knowledge of appropriate classification for chart of accounts.
Perform self-review for accuracy.
Analytical review of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss.
Qualifications:
Senior or fifth year student working towards bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA eligible.
Proficiency in use of computers, Microsoft Office, and accounting software, preferably CCH Profx Engagement.
Knowledge of GAAP, and knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Government Auditing Standards (GAS Yellow Book) and Generally Accepted Governmental Accounting Standards (GAGAS) is a plus.
