The Overview: The Sr Internal Audit Data Analyst, based in the Bellevue, WA office, will report to the Internal Audit Associate Director of Analytics and Automation.
This position will leverage a wide set of analytical skills to help us achieve the digital transformation of our Internal Audit Risk-Based Approach Audit and the SOX program for the company using data analytics and automation.
This will include, but is not limited to, being responsible for automating manual tasks though the use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Analytical Process Automation (APA), supporting internal audits with data analytics by creating Tableau Dashboards, running statistical analysis, creating continuous monitoring over high-risk areas, along with creating and delivering data analytics training for internal audit staff.
The ideal candidate demonstrates exemplary skills in retrieving and analyzing data sets with millions of records and is highly proficient in SQL, Excel, KNIME and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
The ideal candidate has proven experience automating manual processes using RPA and APA.
The ideal candidate also has experience with predictive models and machine learning in fraud and anomaly detection.
Job Responsibilities: Work with Internal Audit Staff to identify and execute on analytical and automation opportunities within internal audit Work in a fast-evolving environment and able to keep up with understanding new risks and challenges while learning new tools and technologies Partner with cross functional teams to understand risks that need to be monitored and the business processes behind them Develop, maintain, and enhance analytics solutions to provide business insights that guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities Designs, performs, and documents data analysis procedures to validate the adequacy and effectiveness of business processes, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
Perform investigations into data questions and weaving those findings into an effective story to be actionable for business users Assess and maintain the quality and completeness of data being used by working closely with business and Data Warehouse teams Proactively monitor risk to identify trends that are sources of opportunity or potential issues, determine root causes, and work with business partners on next steps.
Review data sets for completeness and accuracy by tying them to sources of truth What You'll Need: Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Information Management, or a related degree with analytical or quantitative emphasis Strong SQL skills with a working understanding of databases, ETL process, Data Modeling on unstructured or undefined data sets across multiple business functions.
An ability to develop production level code Demonstrated experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, Knime, OBIEE, Alteryx, etc.
) Experience interpreting data, designing metrics, and analyzing results using exploratory as well as statistical techniques Prior experience leading ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) work Experience presenting findings to business partners across the organization, including executive leadership Excellent technical skills and a strong passion for data analysis and investigation and should also be intellectually curious in the quest for answers to the cause and effect of business outcomes.
A self-starter mentality and ability to operate within a fast-paced and ambiguous environment Proven analytic skills using SAS, R or Python.
A foundational understanding of statistical techniques such as regression, predictive modeling, forecasting, time series analysis, and clustering and apply those to answer business needs (fraud analysis and anomaly detection) Ability to deal with imperfect information and ambiguity and both unstructured and structured data Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, data science or internal audit with data analytics Bonus: An Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline (Accounting/Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science) Experience using Vertica, Snowflake SQL, Data modelling, data warehouse, ETL process Certifications in RPA (UiPath) and APA (Alteryx/KNIME) CISSP, CISM, CISA, CFE or other applicable professional certifications OR certifications in-progress Solid understanding of IT SOX and internal controls Good understanding of IT General Computing Controls, Technology Infrastructures, and/or Business Application design.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
