Accounting Intern As the Accounting Intern, you will be immersed in TerraPower’s financial team’s activities, gaining valuable professional skills to aid in growth in the accounting field.
You will experience hands-on learning that applies what you have learned in school in a real-world environment.
You will be exposed to a wide variety of tasks and projects within TerraPower’s Finance department, including in GL accounting, AP/AR, government accounting and compliance, payroll, and other finance functions.
You will also work with other TerraPower departments in relation to meeting the company’s greater goals.

Responsibilities Assist with the monthly close process, including pre-close activities and post close reporting Assist with preparation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, or other entries in accounting system (Oracle Fusion) Review and update vendor profiles Review invoices and travel expenses for allowability Support billing and rates true ups for government compliance Carry out various account reconciliations, including various GL accounts and Payroll reconciliations Perform mini audits of financial and payroll information between our various systems for consistency Assist the finance department with various external financial and government audits Support with fixed asset tracking of Lab, IT, and Facilities assets purchased by the company Assist in preparing state and local tax returns Review monthly AP reports for proper taxation of purchases Assist in establishing tax processes for TerraPower projects Work on internal accounting and audit policy related projects Contribute to improving documentation of accounting and finance processes Key Qualifications and Skills Undergraduate degree (in progress) from an accredited university in Accounting or Finance.
Completion of Senior year by summer 2025 Prior Internship or work experience preferred Solid understanding of accounting concepts and theories.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to quickly adapt to other Finance and Accounting systems.
Working knowledge of Vlookup, Xlookup, pivot tables, and filtering of data for analysis is desirable.
Experience with Oracle Fusion, and/or Concur is a plus.
Highly organized as well as process- and detail-oriented.
Skillful at quickly comprehending new information and technologies.
Capable of working independently and in a team, in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
