About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant who will report to our Head of Carbon Strategy.
The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, a curiosity for financial planning & analysis, and experience with carbon markets, energy supply, clean finance, or sustainability.
The Senior Accountant position is a full-time hybrid role based in Bellevue, WA.
Responsibilities
Manage the operational tasks within the finance function with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury and cost accounting
Take ownership of finance processes, systems and trackers to ensure accurate financial record-keeping
Manage the payroll process, expense tracking and coding, and other routine bookkeeping tasks
Lead the monthly close and consolidation process, including preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Leverage accounting software and data to produce financial reporting to management and other stakeholders
Analyze data on costs and revenues for financial planning and analysis on new strategic initiatives to support growth and commercial initiatives
Requirements

4-7+ years post qualification experience preferably with an accounting qualification (eg CPA, CPCA or equivalent)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in accounting, finance, or related field
Accounting or finance experience in traditional industries (e.
g.
mining, energy) OR experience in an early stage high growth company
Flexible and adaptable, driving progress cross-functionally with science and operational stakeholders
Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and ability to use advanced functions to work with large data sets.
Ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks in a fast paced environment, keeping to tight month/year-end deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, independence, and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup environment
