JOB DESCRIPTION As an Equity Research Analyst, you will support the coverage of the Latin American Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) stocks, with strong emphasis on the region including: Brazil and Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Colombia.
This position can be located in Brazil or Mexico and will support the Senior Analyst who sits in our Sao Paulo office.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting notes / reports, and creating, updating and maintaining complex financial and valuation models in order to issue accurate investment recommendations to our clients.
Job Description: Support and proactively communicate investment ideas to senior analyst.
Monitoring, responding to and analyzing daily news flow.
Synthesize, assess, and maintain industry data.
Maintenance and further development of macro-models.
Preparation of regular earnings previews and work on earnings reviews.
Build, update and maintain financial and valuation models.
Keep abreast of company filings.
Draft reports/notes on relevant investment themes and events.
Substantial contribution to regular in-depth product reports.
Regular liaison with global JPMC analysts, macro and strategy team, and sales/trading team Respond to client queries.
Be willing to travel as needed.
Contact clients - most likely organizing and hosting some client meetings/trips in the region.
Progressing towards light marketing responsibilities.
Job Requirements: Proficient in English (written and spoken).
Spanish (Advanced) Business experience: 1-3 years of accounting, finance, or industry expertise.
Understanding of and proven experience with financial statement analysis - accounting proficiency is a must.
Advanced Excel skills.
First class financial modelling and accounting skills.
Detailed knowledge of equities valuation useful.
Likely to have a higher degree in a relevant subject and/or CFA, CA etc.
Must be willing to study for CFA if not obtained.
Strong presenter and/or clear ability to develop into one.
Proven writing skills.
Ability to work well in a team.
Well organized, detailed oriented, and ability to multitask.
Enthusiastic, proactive, and highly self-motivated, generative of ideas.
Willing to commit to work very hard for an excellent opportunity at the firm.
