JOB SUMMARY
The Payroll Specialist ensures the timely and accurate processing of Astronics AES’ payroll, while acting as liaison with employees and 3rd party vendors to answer/resolve payroll related inquires.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Bi-weekly payroll preparation and processing, including reconciliation and verification prior to transmission
Ensure all time entries are accurate and finalized prior to processing
Maintain employee payroll database.
Coordinate with HR on all payroll adjustments needed for benefits, garnishments, and status changes, ensuring accurate input and processing
Ensure compliance with state and federal payroll regulations
Monthly reconciliation of benefits deductions (payroll system vs vendor invoice)
Act as liaison to employees to resolve payroll related inquiries
Assist with payroll related data and/or analysis requests made by members of the finance team and/or corporate
Perform other duties as assigned
This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
5 - 7 years of related experience with:
Payroll preparations and processing
Maintaining a payroll & timekeeping system
State of Washington payroll regulations
ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools; intermediate Excel skills preferred
Desired Skills and Attributes:
Strong working knowledge of payroll best practices
Strong knowledge of State and Federal regulations
Strong working knowledge of payroll and time keeping software, ADP preferred
Strong work ethic and high level of confidentiality
Ability to communicate across the organization and with various levels of employees and management
Strong problem solving and analytical skills, ability to make appropriate decisions accordingly
Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.
An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing pre-employment background check and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.
Base salary range is $72,746 - $109,119 per year.
