The Program Accountant directly oversees the proper recording of expenses for grants from private donors, cities, King County, Washington State and the Federal Government.
Working closely with program managers for completeness of documentation, accuracy of coding and allocations, and allowability of cost per contract and grant requirements.
Responsibilities:
Review revenue to establish proper recording of donations, document monthly accruals for contract revenue, work with program managers for proper billing and recording of invoicing for contracts.
Collaborate with program managers and senior accounting staff around documentation for fiscal audits.
Assist program managers with annual budgets
Review program budgets and proposals for new funding sources as needed.
Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local compliance requirements for contract revenue sources.
Monitor collections of outstanding receivables by contract source.
Assist managers in documentation collection and retention of fiscal backup for invoicing.
Review and help implement process improvements around contract revenue.
This position is in office for the first 3 months with the option of 1 day per week remote after 3 months.

Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.

Applicant must successfully pass required background clearances prior to an offer of employment.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
2 years of program or fund accounting.
Advanced proficiently in Excel.
Professional communication skills, especially in writing and correspondence.
2 CFR 200 accounting experience.
Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
SAGE 100 software experience.
