E) with COMPETITIVE BENEFITS INCLUDE: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account Generous PTO, paid sick time, 15 days of paid vacations, 13 days of paid holidays, plus a personal holiday CCS/CHS 403(b) Employee Saving Plan Employee assistance program The Payroll Accountant serves under the direct supervision of the regional office’s Payroll Supervisor and is generally responsible for processing transactions in one or more of the following operational areas.
Responsibilities: Payroll: Process semi-monthly hourly Payroll, and semi-monthly salaried payroll.
Review and verify e-Time and ADP payroll reports for accuracy prior to transmit payroll.
Assure supporting records include proper approvals, completeness, and accuracy.
Communicate with program managers, employees, as necessary to get data on time and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain employee payroll records in ADP to include cost center distributions, rate of pay, withholding allowances, direct deposits.
Communicate with Human Resource as necessary to follow up and resolve employee payroll concerns.
Prepare allocations from ADP reports for hourly employee.
Ensuring proper programs and cost centers distribution pursuant to agency policies.
Maintain schedules of accrued vacation, sick leave and Personal Holiday balances.
Compute accrued vacation adjustments on a monthly basis.
Reconcile accrued vacation balances to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
Post payroll journal entries Reconcile benefits and withholding accounts for assigned payroll cycles.
Ensure payroll allocations for related costs and cost centers are complete and research requests from program managers, accounting, auditors and funders.
Other: Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional duties may include, but are not limited to, preparing schedules for the annual audit and assisting other staffs whenever needed.
Attend trainings required of all employees and staff meetings as scheduled.
Job Conditions This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material.
Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, bedbugs, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance, building temperature fluctuations, dust, noise, and odors.
Working conditions include interruptions, crisis response, and regular interactions with individuals who are dealing with issues of chemical dependency and/or mental illness, or are experiencing anger or frustration.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Associates of Arts and Sciences degree in Accounting.
Two years experiences in accounting.
Strong computer skills, especially in Excel and accounting software packages.
Commitment to working within the mission, goals, and values of Catholic Community Services.
Experience with ADP and e-Time.
Experience with Sage accounting software.
Advanced knowledge of HR/Payroll processes and systems that help administer or control pay programs.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholder teams, such as HR, Program Managers, and Staff.
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and ambiguous environment; handle multiple tasks with the ability to re-prioritize and shift priorities quickly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail and results orientation are required.
Written/Oral communications - ability to speak and write clearly and concisely, get messages across that have the desired effect.

Subsitute Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited university may substitute for two years of accounting experience.
Two years of direct experience can be substituted for each year of college education.
Vocational school completion of accounting courses may substitute for AA degree.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in a nonprofit, government funded, or social services environment.
ADP experience.
