They must have a growth mindset as we look to greatly expand our reach with content optimized to rank highly in search results and via our publishing partners' algorithms.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in content and digital media, as well as confidence in their understanding of personal finance and what kinds of topics people search for and how.
They'll be comfortable diving into the data and leveraging it to inform future content opportunities.
They'll also be excited to experiment with cutting-edge technology like AI to improve efficiency, as well as to share their work on social platforms and with interview sources.
How Will You Make an Impact? Optimize content with the goal of increasing traffic, focused specifically on the strategy of increasing traffic through planned editorial content.
Pitch 6-8 data-backed title ideas daily.
Write a minimum of 80 pieces of content each month for the GOBankingRates site, focused on in-depth outreach and high-priority subjects.
Help evolve and maintain content standards across editorial content.
Work closely with freelancers and the internal editorial team to execute against keyword research, targeting business-critical keywords and phrases.
Contribute to the evolution of the GOBankingRates' voice and authority in the personal finance space.
Drive cross-team collaboration with other content leaders Mentor/train new writers and provide feedback on overall writing quality to the full team Monitor analytics on ongoing and new initiatives to build on success and eliminate low-return efforts.
Share content across social sites and with interview sources and other high profile contacts What Do You Bring to Us? At least 5 years of editorial experience in online publication Experience using analytics tools to make editorial decisions.
Knowledge of digital media best practices, and industry trends and experience implementing them in content pieces and plans.
BA/BS from a four-year accredited university or college, preferably with a degree in Journalism, and/or a similar field – or similar equivalent experience.
You're an excellent project manager with great time management, strong organizational and attention to detail.
A positive attitude, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for content are musts.
Can work independently, as well as collaboratively with editorial experts, product, design, and SEO teams.
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 per year.
Pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
