This Opportunity The Senior Revenue Accountant will report to our Controller to support US GAAP compliant revenue recognition.
This role requires resourcefulness to manage our day to day revenue operations and initiative to help create process improvements around the revenue process for a fast-growing company.
A strong candidate for this role is highly analytical, approaches problems in a structured manner and is comfortable in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with frequently changing priorities.
In this role, you will: Prepare technical accounting memos assessing revenue recognition for new products and contracts and corroborate with supporting data studies as needed.
Maintain and update revenue accounting policies and procedures.
Oversee the day-to-day revenue accounting operations, interpret and support the processing of complex contracts and Statements of work in NetSuite to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606.
Onboard new customers, own the invoicing process and handle invoicing questions related to contract and deal terms.
Work closely with the Customer Success team to review hours and project milestones to ensure accurate recognition of Professional Services revenue.
Work with engineering and product teams to analyze large datasets, build and enhance the process around usage billing, and prepare monthly usage billing.
Collaborate with various teams in managing and maintaining usage estimates and forecasts to remain compliant with ASC 606.
Manage the commission calculation process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of the calculations; manage pay statements for plan participants.
Evaluate and implement guidance as it relates to commissions accounting.
Participate in month-end close processing including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of revenue, deferred accounts and commission and pulling together applicable reports.
Analyze and comment on monthly, quarterly, annual variances for relevant accounts within income and balance sheet statements.
Prepare revenue and commission related disclosures at quarter and year-end.
Assist in determining the appropriate sales tax treatment and managing tax filings.
Proactively identify areas for improvement; provide well formulated solutions and effectively carry out the implementation of those solutions.
Assist in the design and documentation of internal controls and perform key control activities identified for relevant accounting areas.
Perform multiple tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned.
Key Qualifications 3+ years of SaaS/B2B industry revenue accounting experience REQUIRED & Big 4 a plus Bachelors degree in Accounting; CPA preferred High level understanding of order-to-cash cycle and experience in building related processes Strong documentation and communication skills Why Truveta?
