Do you want to be at the intersection of Amazon Retail, AWS, and the development of eCommerce? Amazon seeks a Senior Finance Analyst to join the eCommerce Foundation (eCF) FP&A team.
This is an exciting opportunity to interact with eCF business and finance leaders.
eCF is made up of 9 technical organizations whose mission is to lead architectural innovation and deliver technical solutions to operate the Amazon Retail website.
The Senior Finance Analyst will consolidate metrics and financial reporting to provide commentary to eCF leadership and to Worldwide Amazon Stores.
The role also includes identifying metrics to run the business, improving the financial reporting mechanisms, and becoming the group’s expert for financial analysis and reporting.
Key job responsibilities
- Forecast year end headcount trends based on attrition rates, hiring capacity, and macroeconomic conditions
- Prepare monthly close reporting including consolidated reporting of metrics, key indicators, headcount, and OpEx with drivers and variance commentary
- Create annual and quarterly update forecasts of headcount and OpEx based on key drivers and analyzing opportunities to gain efficiencies and reduce cost to serve
- Consolidate the variance analysis, commentary, and business insights to Worldwide Amazon Stores
- Drive process improvements to the way we consolidate, communicate, and analyze the business
- Become the subject matter expert on the FP&A tools of Cognos, Assembly, Roster, and QuickSight dashboards
A day in the life
We seek a Senior Finance Analyst with solid quantitative and financial skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, ability to create work back project plans, and clear verbal and written communication.
The successful candidate will work across finance teams to consolidate financial analyses, reporting, and variance commentary to communicate a cohesive message to Amazon Stores.
The Senior Finance Analyst will work with multiple financial tools, maintain integrity of the data, and speak to the business story behind the numbers.

- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- CPA, or CMA
- Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
