JOB OVERVIEW
Staff Accountant
The Staff Account is a key member of the finance team responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions, reconciliations, various reporting, and being the lead on AR collections.
This role involves maintaining financial records, reviewing and understanding financial data, and collaborating with various departments to support the overall financial health of the organization.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Record Keeping
Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
Reconcile account balance sheet accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts regularly.
Month-End and Year-End Close
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, ensuring all financial transactions are properly supported, and accounted for.
Financial Analysis
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances and discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Collections
Reviews past due receivable balances and contacts customers for payment status.
Records collection activity for transparency and reporting.
Compliance and Reporting
Assist in preparing various reports for external stakeholders, including auditors, tax agencies, and regulatory bodies.
Other duties as assigned.
STAFF ACCOUNTANT EXPECTATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
Construction company experience is a plus.
Minimum two years proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role.
Strong Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
“Can do” approach and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
