Position Summary:
KBKG is seeking a Cost Segregation Manager.
The individual will be responsible for managing engineering staff who are task with completing fixed asset analysis in order to identify all assets that are eligible for accelerated depreciation.
They will review prepared engineering results and reports to ensure quality control of each deliverable.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented and possesses outstanding interpersonal skills.
This is a management position situated within a growing regional CPA firm.
The position will involve travel approximately 20% of the year.
The primary responsibilities expected, but are not limited to:
Cost Segregation Manager Responsibilities:
Work with clients to procure data related to acquisition or construction
Analyze construction cost ledgers, contractor payment applications, and other cost documentation and reconcile to accounting records
Review takeoffs from blueprints and provided images of structure
Review estimates within costing manuals such as RS Means Cost Estimator and Marshall & Swift
Determine the appropriate tax life for building components in accordance with IRS Regulations
Perform physical site inspections
Write/Review reports and prepare schedules that support findings from analysis
Analyze property data and real estate income and expense statements
Understanding of real estate appraisals and valuations
Communicate and resolve questions with clients
Familiarity with construction design and construction processes.
The ability to read, interpret, and explain engineering and architectural drawings is required
Demonstrated ability to accurately take off quantities, estimate the cost of construction, sequence and schedule the construction for commercial buildings preferred
Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (excel, word, etc.
)
Job Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering (preferred), construction management, construction engineering, electrical, mechanical or civil engineering required
(3) years or more of relevant experience
Must have strong Microsoft Office skills; Excel proficient
Problem-solving strategies and conflict resolution skills
Well organized and possesses the ability to multi-task
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
