Accounts Payable Specialist

MISSION & SCOPE: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the accurate entry and on-time payment of assigned vendor invoices.
This position’s primary focus to ensure all vendor invoices are entered and paid appropriately, that all vendor accounts are current and in good credit standing, and that all payments are made timely in order to claim all cash discounts.
This position pay range is from $21.
25 - $24.
75/hr.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure invoice processing is performed timely and accurately.
Process weekly cash disbursements (check runs).
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any differences or outstanding invoices in a timely manner.
Provide exceptional customer service via phone/email/in-person to vendors and internal customers, working to resolve issues that might arise.
Manage open Purchase Orders to facilitate timely payments.
Assist with Month-end processing, as assigned, including month-end accruals and GL recons.
Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
May be cross-trained, or asked to cross-train others in areas of responsibility between the two companies in order to support coverage for absences and provide succession for career development and enterprise growth.
DIMENSIONS: Quantitative: Work in a team environment to ensure department duties are completed on-time.
Qualitative: Accuracy and timeliness are essential to this job.
Specialists must organize desk activities to enable timely completion of assigned workflow.
Work performed is integral to departmental key metrics.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Interacts with all departmental and store employees when resolving questions & research.
External: Interacts with all vendors maintaining positive relationships with these vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience of 2 years in Accounts Payable.
Excellent Personal Computer experience, Excel and Word preferred.
Detail-oriented with a priority of accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communications.
Read, speak, write and understand the English language at a business level.
Good organizational skills with a pro-active positive attitude.
Work well in a team environment.
