Introduction to the team
The growing Business Consulting Services practice is a collaborative group that is committed to providing superior client service through strong relationships and high value deliverables.
The Staff role will provide outstanding service to our Tribal government clients by delivering a variety of ongoing accounting services as well as grant management functions.

Responsibilities:
Provides operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, that include monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting
Prepares and records journal entries
Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters
Perform project start up activities, such as following project work plans, adhering to schedules, and attending kickoff meetings
Reviews the work of self for accuracy
Serves as an integral member of our Business Consulting Services team
Occasionally travels to client locations, firm trainings, or industry conferences
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred
Minimum of 1 year of related experience required; not for profit and/or governmental experience preferred
Experience in one or more of the following preferred: grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing
Strong verbal and written communication skills including proven commitment to providing exceptional client service via multiple communication methods (email, phone, chat, helpdesk ticket system, etc.
)
Ability to understand problems, think critically and identify creative solutions
Effective time management and organizational skills, proven ability to prioritize while simultaneously managing numerous projects/processes often under tight deadlines
Works independently to prioritize work, establish goals and produce quality work
Self-directed professional with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate and work effectively across functions/departments/teams while building trusted relationships
Proficient with Microsoft Office and one or more government accounting/grant management software systems
Ability to travel as needed, approximately 25%
