*Job title: Senior Accountant*

The Senior Accountant full-time position will work closely with the Controller and operating company finance teams across the United States and Canada to prepare the group consolidation and to develop related processes and controls.
Principal Responsibilities
· Assists controller with month-end and year-end close processes to prepare and publish timely and accurate monthly consolidated financial statements
· Prepare month-end reconciliations including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and applicable supporting schedules for quarterly and annual reporting when applicable
· Prepare month-end journal entries including cash, amortization, accruals, fees, interest, etc.
· Monitors sub ledgers and primary G/L accounts to keep them in alignment
· Preparing and reconciling monthly working papers including variance analysis to ensure accurate reporting and provide insight into results; following-up on outstanding issues
· Identify opportunities to implement controls to safeguard the company while driving process improvements to establish a more effective, efficient work environment
· Support preparation of internal and external financial statements
· Support processing accounts payable and accounts receivable: coding, posting and preparing payment runs, helps clerk to resolve more complex situations
· Support the development of business intelligence reporting design and related reporting systems
· Continuously contemplates process improvements and is able to model/implement solutions
· Works with 3rd party partners to develop and refine tools
· Setting up working papers for various entities
· Completing bank reconciliations
· Preparation of statutory remittances
· Additional duties as assigned
· Able to work with other departments and serve as a lead within the accounting team
Candidates’ Key Skills & Experience
· 2-5 years in a staff accounting or senior accounting roles, preferably in manufacturing or food
· Experience with month-end accounting close process
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including effectiveness at all levels of group and subsidiary company organizations
· Optimistic; able to cope with setbacks and unexpected challenges with energy
· "Low ego" personality / team player; able to create successful relationships with varying personalities
· Attracted to, and able to manage, a high volume of work and continuous flow of new challenges / changes; skillfully able to adapt work to changing scenarios as required; works on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality
