Our company is a unique family owned Caterpillar Dealer and our Payroll Department provides key services and support for employees located in Alaska, Montana, Washington, Wyoming and North Dakota.
We have an opening for a Payroll Specialist who will co-facilitate the payroll processing for the Harnish Group Inc.
and its Member Companies operating our multi-state payrolls paying over 1,200 employees on a bi-weekly and semi-monthly basis.
Essential Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Provide essential support to all employees and departments located in different time zones.
Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for bi-weekly and semi-monthly pay groups.
In coordination with the Payroll Supervisor, reconcile employee accrual balances, make corrections; generate leave and holiday reports, update and distribute Vacation/Sick reports, assist employees with general payroll matters in coordination with the Payroll Supervisor.
Review and audit preview payroll reports: monthly, quarterly, and annual reports are completed in a timely manner.
Assist in researching and resolving all payroll errors prior to submitting final payroll.
Perform post-payroll tasks and reconciliations.
Process manual and miscellaneous checks as requested.
Research and apply updates to federal, state, and local payroll and tax laws as they apply.
Process garnishments, government mandated deductions, expense reimbursement, and employee accounts for tool purchases, status changes for new hires, promotions, transfers, raises and terminations transactions.
Cooperate with different departments to increase payroll service performance.
Verify/audit new hire and status change forms from HR; review/enter market rate technician adjustments.
Perform Verification of Employment as requested, provide support to employees on UltiPro access issues.
Personal Attributes, Experience, and Education:
Must possess current payroll experience with a thorough knowledge of U.
S.
payroll tax laws.
Must have 5 years or more consecutive years of payroll experience.
An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related financial field is preferred.
Knowledge of Ultimate Software (UKG) preferred or similar payroll processing software systems.
Demonstrate accounting and General Ledger knowledge with intermediate to advanced Excel.
Possess problem-solving abilities, computation skills and solid time management, good analytical skills especially in identifying discrepancies.
Self-directed and a team player with high attention to detail.
Ability to handle personal information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
We offer a competitive benefits package that includes salary from $63,300 - $77,300 based on skills and experience, health benefits, vacation, sick leave, life insurance, 401(k) with profit sharing and company match.
