The Defect Prevention and Reconciliation (DP&R) organization builds innovative technical products that recognize, reconcile, and prevent exceptions within Amazon’s fulfillment supply chain.
We are building a future where we capture, analyze, and explain every inventory defect across all stages of the supply chain (i.

inbound, distribution, storage, fulfillment, returns).
The Defect Reduction Program team, within DP&R, is composed of three key defect prevention verticals: defects that exist before they arrive to Amazon, defects that occur within Amazon’s fulfillment network, or defects that lead to customer returns.
This role is responsible for driving step function reductions in Amazon defect performance to support our vision to deliver lower costs to Amazon customers.
This role’s WW scope includes collaborating and designing technical solutions across 10 teams within the Amazon Fulfillment Network including: Fulfillment Center Operations, Global Supply Chain Technology, ACES, Customer Service, Transportation, Amazon Fulfillment Technology, Customer Returns and Re-Commerce, Customer and Buyer Abuse Prevention, and Packaging Innovation.
In addition to this, this role is responsible for working, and proposing technical architecture frameworks, across multiple VP-level organizations including Global Supply Chain-ACES, World Wide FBA, Supply Chain Optimization Team, Seller Support Services, and North America Customer Fulfillment, World Wide Returns & Re-Commerce, and Defect Prevention & Reconciliation.
This role' acts as a single-threaded-leader responsible for solving challenges that are architectural in nature with no strategy defined.
This position is expected to operate independently.
As part of this, to understand problems effectively, this role requires the ability to identify risks and opportunities in technical strategies, architecture, and engineering organizational structure.
This position is be responsible for making tradeoff decisions around extending current frameworks versus establishing new architectures.
This role is also responsible for writing technical proposals, getting alignment from stakeholders, and then constructing design documents for transition to development teams to execute.

Apply this knowledge to invent, evolve, and improve, defect prevention and reconciliation.
- Partner with all levels of leadership to drive business and system-level reviews, aligning priorities, road maps, and processes.
- Manage communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed and needs aligned.
- Amplify your impact by educating less experienced Technical Program Managers and engineering communities on program management best practices.
- Develop and mentor team members.
Perform promotion assessments.
Participate in talent reviews.
A day in the life - Provide guidance to team members.
- Plan and organize work for the team that is aligned to long term and near term goals.
- Sync with business and program managers to anticipate changes in priority or focus.
- Craft, design, and influence the design and features for projects before launch.
- Improve mechanisms to achieve more high quality output with less time investment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
