Sucker Punch, the studio that created Ghost of Tsushima, is looking for a Senior Engine Programmer to join our studio.
You will work with amazing artists and designers, push technological boundaries, and help build a spectacular game.
We are looking for someone with skills to investigate, define and create the highly polished gameplay, scalable tools and efficient engine technology that drives our games.
Whether you are contributing on animation, pathfinding, physics, UX or special effects, this is more than just coding a feature in a single system; it is about contributing to the vision from user facing tools, all the way to the nut and bolts of the engine.

Responsibilities
Analyze and enhance existing features, and support the artists and designers using them
Design and develop new features for our engine, from user input to polished player experience
Provide recommendations to management, as well as follow on solutions, to achieve strategic and operational goals
Work is done mostly in C++, but Python is also required for authoring workflows
Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards
Create and implement well-engineered, reliable, maintainable, and bug-free code
Ability to work under tight time constraints and deadlines
Able to own large engine features from start to finish
Must have a positive and supportive attitude and enjoy working with others
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a programming role
BS or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline
Must be legally able to work in the United States
Excellent communication across disciplines
Solid 3D math skills
Understanding of game AI and animation concepts
Passionate about making great games

5+ years of academic or personal experience in game development
Experience shipping industry leading AI or animation systems technology
This position is available for on-site (Bellevue, WA), hybrid or fully remote.
This position is currently open to those eligible to work in the States or Canada.
At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s salary range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
As this is a flexible role that can be performed remotely, this means that the salary range will vary based on geographic location.
Please note that individual pay will be set within this salary range based on location as well as skills and experience related to the job.
Additionally, the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying salary ranges based on geographic location.
For example, if you are based out of Los Angeles, the base salary range for this role is: $123,000 - 184,600
