About the role DNV – Energy Systems is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Hydrogen & Low Carbon Fuels team.
In this role, you will work with a group of process engineers supporting other colleagues in identifying customizable solutions to clients’ challenges in their energy transition endeavors.
Your contributions will help maintain DNV’s know-how around hydrogen as a fuel and feed to other processes.
This know-how will readily respond to clients’ requests in a fast-paced environment.
DNV – Energy Systems – Hydrogen & Low Carbon Fuel aspires to become the preferred business partner to support customers in mitigating their risks by providing high-quality due diligence studies focusing on green hydrogen production and its integration into a supply chain.
Among the challenges the senior project engineer in the team will face is representing customers during the several phases of electrolyzer deployment projects.
The first preference for this role is the Seattle office.
We will consider remote positions based out of any location in the continental U.
S.
What You’ll Do Review, on behalf of the customer, the professional management of all relevant engineering disciplines in proposals and project execution Able to advise the customer in scope management, provision of technical specifications and documentation, bill of quantities (BoQs), change management, quality, EHS, risk and opportunities, project schedule, and progress reporting Capable of contributing to project definition in support of project size, location, technology selection, contracting strategy, scope, and schedule as a detailed feasibility study (FEL 0 -3) Led and organized feasibility study projects in the areas of hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives Review project documentation, ensuring fulfillment of customer requirements along the several stages of the project Review and advise customers on EPC’s proposed technical deviations, ensuring project scope, safety, and quality requirements are fulfilled Review system and equipment design documents, datasheets, P&IDs, and I&C specifications and guarantees Ensuring project documentation and execution follow the promised design guidelines and relevant engineering codes on behalf of the customer Review vendor engineering specifications and ensure they match project specifications Analysis and advice for selecting electrolysis technologies and reviewing electrolyzer design basis Review of bidders’ technical performance guarantees Review of process diagrams, process flow schemes (PFS), process engineering flow schemes (PEFS), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), single line diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams, ladder diagrams, riser diagrams, and other typical project diagrams Review and advise customers on technology licensing, permitting, and environmental matters What we offer Generous Paid Time Off (Vacation, Company Holidays, Parental Leave, Sick, and Disability) Multiple Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefit Plans to choose from Spending Accounts – FSA, Dependent Care, Commuter Benefits, Company-Seeded HSA 401(K) with company match Company provided life insurance, short-term, and long-term disability benefits Education reimbursement program Employer-Paid, therapist-led, virtual care services through Talkspace Flexible work schedule with hybrid/remote opportunities **Benefits may vary based on position, tenure, location, and employee election** How We Do It We Care, We Dare, We Share DNV is a proud equal-opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.

com About you What Is required Engineering degree (B.
Sc.
) or (M.
Sc.
) within Systems, Process, Chemical, or Mechanical engineering Working experience in an EPC firm, engineering, or other technical functions.
Alternatively, working experience in managing electrolyzer deployment projects Knowledge of American standards typically used in project execution (ASME, API, NEMA, NPFA, CGA, ASTM) Five to seven (5 - 7) years of experience in project management-related activities with exposure the several project phases, including FEED, construction, and commissioning Awareness competence level about electrolyzers, hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and synthetic fuels processes Knowledge about water treatment systems to produce several water qualities suitable for electrolyzers Prior experience with contracts and procurement Awareness of competence level of Process Safety Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong project management and change management skills Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently during a given workweek We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening ***Note: Only applicants that submit a Cover Letter explaining their motivations for applying to the role and why they think they are a good fit for the position will be considered.
