Perform a variety of reception, clerical, insurance verification, and data entry duties for patients in an engaging, welcoming, and warm manner.
Answer telephones, schedule appointments, handle patient finance at the time of service, maintain patient records, and coordinate patient flow through the office.
Promote a safe, pleasant, and harmonious environment for staff, dentists, and patients.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
General:
Retrieve messages from the answering service/voicemail.
Turn on electronic equipment in inpatient areas (radio, TVs, video games).
Answer telephone and triage phone calls.
Manage daily schedule to maximize productivity and staffing.
Communicate via email/phone to referring offices.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments and post-op calls.
Maintain cancellation list; follow up calls to broken appointments and patients needing treatment.
Scan, email, photocopy, fax documents as needed.
Tidy patient areas and workspace.
Greet patients in a friendly manner.
Insurance/TX Plans:
Input patient data/documents into Dental Software System(Eaglesoft).
Verify Dental Insurance Coverage for patients.
Present TX plan and financials to patient.
Explain various financing options to the patient.
Collect patient co-insurance monies due at time of service.
Weekly:
Work outstanding claims greater than 30 days
Assist with putting together packaging of monthly appreciation deliveries
Maintain/Update Insurance binders and system PPO fee schedules
Monthly:
Send monthly statements/refunds to patients.
Run monthly reports and provide them to the supervisor.
May assist with some drop off of monthly gifts to referring doctors' offices.
Competencies:
Attention to detail.
A plus if you have experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
A plus if you have worked as a dental assistant.

Ability to maintain an outgoing, friendly attitude with patients and staff even under pressure.
Ability to work with interruptions and manage multiple priorities.
Ability to speak, understand, and write fluent English.
Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Requirements:
Minimum high school graduate
Dental Experience a Plus
Physical Requirements:
Must be in the good physical condition and able to withstand the stress and demands of active practice.
Must be able to endure long hours of standing, walking, stooping, bending, and sitting.
Manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, and adequate vision and hearing are needed in daily work.
Physical Environment/Working Conditions:
Encounter clinical and office environments in the work routine.
Variable degrees of mental and physical stress; variable amounts of standing, sitting and walking.
Exposure to blood, body fluids and contaminants is possible (clinicians).
Frequent intervals are devoted to keyboard manipulation for inputting and retrieving data.
Limited physical activity related to moving, lifting, and transporting objects.
