Lion's mane (Hericium erinaceus) is a type of medicinal mushroom.
Long used in traditional Chinese medicine, lion's mane is widely available in fresh, dried, and supplement form.
Scientific research shows that lion's mane contains a number of health-promoting substances, including antioxidants and beta-glucan.
Makes a great compost when it's all spent.
Store in the refrigerator if not used right away.
To grow lion's mane, cut an X to expose a small part of the content inside.
In a week, mushrooms will start sprouting.
At this stage, mist inside a plastic bag to use as a tent and loosely cover the mushroom bag so that the humidity stays around 90%.
Keep away from direct sunlight.
After harvesting the first flush, cut another X on the opposite side and start the process again.
Refrain from contaminating the grow bag, humidity tent or any equipment to prevent mold.
