ABOUT THE POSITION We are currently looking for a special person to join our team as an Event Manager.
At Meydenbuer Center, our Event Managers act as a 1 stop shop for our clients, working with them from the moment they inquire about the space until the final invoice is sent.
Some of the core responsibilities of this position include: • Working with the client to determine their needs, creating accurate proposals and facilitating the contracting process.
• Conducting site tours of our facility to help potential clients envision their event in our space.
• Becoming a little bit of an expert in a lot of areas, talking with our client about everything from space recommendations to menu ideas to power and internet services for their event.
• Facilitating all planning related activities, including creating room layout diagrams and detailed event plans that collect all of the key event information.
• Assisting in menu development, working with client to select the right meals for their guests and conducting menu tastings when needed.
• Sharing all event planning information with our internal team to ensure that everyone is ready to execute a successful program for the client.
• Overseeing the event onsite once it all comes together to ensure that everything operates smoothly.
All the while, building a strong relationship with our clients to ensure that the entire experience is seamless and easy.
• Following up with the client after the event to try and bring them back again in the future.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR The Sales & Events team is in search of an individual with a true passion for hospitality and events who’s ready to go the extra mile for our team and our clients! We’re looking for someone who: • Builds strong relationships with both internal and external customers • Can manage multiple tasks and projects at one time • Likes variety in the work they do • Looks at challenges with a solutions focused mindset • Can express themselves clearly & concisely, in person, over the phone & over email • Knowledgeable on directing events where large numbers of the general public are in attendance • Knowledgeable on customer relationship management software and Office product, and ideally event management and event diagramming software • Has a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Events, Marketing or another related field • Has (2) years of experience in event coordinator/planning, sales or a comparable position • Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms.
He/she is frequently required to stand, bend and/or stoop, talk and hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
The employee frequently lifts and/or moves 10 pounds or more.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
POSITION TYPE / WORK SCHEDULE This is a full-time position.
Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm or when events are in progress.
This is a hybrid position with a typical three weeks in office and two days remote.
This may vary when events are in progress.
This position may require longer hours depending on workload.
