Kedai Makan is a Malaysian restaurant in Capitol Hill serving an innovative menu.
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and career-minded individual to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have significant kitchen experience, including Asian cooking techniques, but we will train the right candidate.
The kitchen manager should be adept at following recipes for prep as well as leading the line during a busy service.
Other responsibilities include responsible for writing prep lists, taking inventory, supervising other cooks and ensuring that recipes are being followed correctly, performing quality control, and maintaining a positive work environment.
Position: Assistant Kitchen Manager / Kitchen Manager
Schedule: Must have weekend availability to work.
Pay: The wage will increase dependent on training and performance.
Hires for management positions the expectation are expected train from the bottom up.
Training wage starts at $16.
50/hr plus service charge with a fair wage guarantee of at least $23/hr including hourly base pay, overtime pay, holiday pay, and service charge.
The wage for a fully trained kitchen manager increases to $20/hr plus service charge, with a fair wage guarantee of at least $30/hr including hourly base pay, overtime pay, holiday pay, and service charge.
There is the possibility of further promotions and increases in pay based on performance and increased responsibilities.
