We are seeking a qualified Quality Assurance Manager to join our team.
We are located in Renton, WA with a second location in Kent, WA.
*Job Summary* The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring the overall success of Harper’s Quality Program, which is designed to ensure excellent quality standards are maintained for all products, processes and services.
In addition, this position is responsible for managing Harper’s Quality Management System, leading the organization’s internal/external audits, supplier control and providing direct supervision and support for the Quality Assurance staff.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities* * Maintain Quality Management System accreditations such as AS9100/ISO9001, FAA CFR, etc.
* Manager of Quality Department Staff (Inspection & Quality Engineering) and have direct report to VP/General Manager.
* Work on Continuous Improvement Projects, lead Corrective/Preventive Action investigations (RCCA’s) * Develop and implement quality plans and procedures using statistical quality controls and analyses.
* Review and approve engineering specification such as drawings, manufacturing work instruction, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), for adequacy, quality, and compliance to specifications, customer requirements and contractual & regulatory requirements.
* Review/approve test procedures/prints with proper validation for customer concurrence.
* Review trend/metric data for continuous/process improvements.
* Maintain the Risk Management & Internal Auditing Programs including all related documentation.
Closely interact across other functions to address quality issues and facilitate continuous improvement of product quality.
* Responsible for monitoring and assuring supplier quality including managing outside process vendors and assuring clear communication of requirements and monitoring/assuring OTD.
* Monitors training to assure proficiency of the Quality Management System, including delivering or assuring training of employees.
*Required Knowledge and Skills* * Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.
* Must have intermediate computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office applications.
* LEAN and/or Six Sigma Experience preferred.
* Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines provided.
* Must be Team oriented and be able to work with all levels of employees.
* 3D Modeling Ability Preferred, but not required.
* Technical Writing Ability a must, such as writing procedures and work instructions.
* Ability to develop inspection/process standards.
* Ability to act as a liaison between Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing.
*Education and Experience * * Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering discipline and 5 years of Quality Engineering/Quality Assurance experience or 10 years minimum experience in Quality Assurance leadership role.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role required.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience with an AS9100/ISO9001 based Quality Management System.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in root cause investigation and corrective action implementation * Minimum of 5 years of experience using measurement tools, such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.
CMM experience preferred, but not required.
* Internal or Lead Auditor training/certification preferred.
* ASQ Certified Quality Manager certificate or similar preferred.
* Six Sigma or LEAN Manufacturing training/certification preferred.
* Statistical Process Control experience preferred.
