Microsoft has been making strides in becoming the best protection suite for end users, but there is still a lot of work to do! Our PM Team oversees product management for End User Security developing an array of products and features that help keep our users safe.
We’re looking for a seasoned, Principal Product Manager that is user experience focused, energetic, driven and can easily switch from product management to planning and producing requirements that can be consumed by our engineering team.
You’ll need to be a self-starter, capable of developing plans and obtaining leadership team buy in.
You’ll need to be proficient in working with data to support those ideas and plans and you’ll need an inquisitive mind to follow that data in order locate the right opportunities.
This role requires large amounts of cross-company collaboration, and the ideal candidate should enjoy those types of engagements and have a track record of great partner and customer management.
Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for incubating a set of new Security initiatives.
You will need to engage with a wide variety of internal and external partners, customer segments and be able to translate conversations to product scenarios.
Many of our scenarios span across multiple teams, so you’ll need to drive initiatives across many internal stakeholders and groups and be extremely adapt at doing so.
In addition, you will need: A good understanding of the security industry, market and trends that are key to success in this role.
A great understanding of many of the product offerings Microsoft provides today.
Should be able to clearly understand and articulate threat landscape, End User scenarios and the associated engineering requirements.
Have the ability to convince and gain buy in from partner teams.
Lead conversations and drive direction.
Be able to translate the big picture into detailed and effective functional requirements.
Be able to tell a story, clearly present your ideas and obtain feedback from peers and partners.
Maintain a continuous engagement with key partners to deliver on End User needs.
Engage with partners and the field to obtain feedback and help unblock sales.
Scope your scenarios, contribute to testing your product features and execute E2E through release Have a keen eye and deep interest in the user experience and be able to demonstrate a history of experience based optimizations, A/B testing and experience based experimentation Cross platform experience delivering end user solutions across Desktop and Mobile A deep connection and focus on key metrics (e.
g.
Adoption, False Positives, key funnels, etc.
).
We take pride in being a diverse and inclusive team, and we expect that you’ll join us on this mission Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
5+ years experience defining and shipping products.
5+ years experience developing strategic solutions requiring participation across organizational boundaries.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience Previous experience solving user experience problems with a user first mind set Understanding the challenges users face with cyber security and the array of solutions in the market today Understanding of technologies across Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android and the web Understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning(ML) technologies.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.
S.
is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
