Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity and immediate need on the P-8 Air Vehicle Program for a Lead Engineering Data Scientist in Tukwila, WA.
This role will be a part of the Air Vehicle Engineering team providing support to the E-7 and P-8 program.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop cutting edge tools for multiple programs across the division.
This person will be responsible to lead cross-functional teams to determine, define and deploy sophisticated descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, or prescriptive analytic solutions integral to the development, evaluation and production for E-7 and P-8.
The role will require the evaluation of stakeholder needs and choosing the best fit methods, defines algorithms, validates and deploys models, while performing the vital data preparation and improvements to models.
Position Responsibilities: Create Maps for all digital data sources and data bases Investigate and learn about information data sources capabilities and access Build Indicators Dashboards with the support from engineering management Identify sources of data to construct predictive and prescriptive models.
Construct predictive and prescriptive models for the engineering community within the P-8 program.
This position is hybrid.
This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): Advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.

data mining, statistics, machine learning, natural language processing, text mining, visual analytics) and building Descriptive, Predictive and Prescriptive models 1+ years or more designing and creating new algorithms for the analysis of data to address project requirements, evaluate performance of data analysis algorithms and select and apply algorithms to meet application requirements 1+ years or more applying knowledge of 2D and/or 3D computer graphics to generate data representation and to communicate information Must have the ability to travel up to 20% of the time domestically Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience): Experience in product production environment Knowledge of multiple information technology areas Systems thinking skills, the ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area Experience communicating to program leadership Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.
g.
Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.
g.
PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
