Attendance is vital! Normal schedule is Monday through Friday but some weekend work is required and we ask our team to be flexible to get the job done.

*What does the Coffee Roasting Assistant - Materials Handler do?* The coffee roasting system includes green loading, coffee roasting, and grinder operation.
The roasting assistant team is responsible for tracking all green coffee from arrival at the facility to roasting and providing it to the roasters in a timely manner as needed.
You are also tasked with assisting in the labeling and organizing of roasted coffee in preparation for the next stage of production.
As the subject matter expert on green coffee, you will take steps to support your team such as suggesting process improvements.
While this position is a support role within the roasting department, it is designed to be a starting point for learning and operating all systems within the roasting department.
Meaning, this position has a high potential for career growth within the roasting department! This position will report to the Coffee Roasting System Manager.
*What we EXPECT of you:* * Support the roasting team and ensure they are able to be highly productive and produce quality products.
* Accountable for the accurate tracking and general storage and appearance of the green coffee for production.
* Inspect green for quality and perform test procedures on all received batches.
* Stage green coffee for roasters.
* Prepare and fulfill green orders.
* Assist with cycle counting and inventory as needed.
* Understand product lot coding.
* Place a priority on safety and GMP level cleanliness.
* Learn company software and learn how to navigate through various processes.
* Perform any other work as assigned.
* Follow all company policies, procedures, and value systems.
* Proactively learn other aspects of the coffee roasting system.
*Requirements:* * High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
* Physical demands: Lifting up 50 lbs regularly, in addition to standing for extended periods of time, reaching, and crouching.
100-150 pound bags of coffee may be rolled, or slid into position, but team lifting is expected for anything over 50 pounds.
* Strong time management skills, able to be on time and use work time effectively.
* Strong communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain quality relationships with customers, co-workers, and management.
* Willingness to work in an entrepreneurial and sometimes unstructured environment * Enthusiasm and the ability to achieve goals within a supportive team framework.
*Preferred Qualifications* * 1+ year of previous warehouse, inventory, or shipping/receiving experience * Forklift Experience.
