JOB SUMMARY The Network Engineer will design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure.
You will be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.

This is a regular, full-time, benefitted position ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Responsibilities, accountabilities, and competencies; may not include all duties of this job) IT Incident & Problem Management - 20% Operate as a point of contact for both internal and external support of networking services.
Work closely with contractors, vendors, peers, and management to develop action plans for incident and problem resolution.
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues and network disaster recovery expertise.
Data/Networking - 25% Perform necessary activities with the IT team to design, implement, and support Plymouth Housing network routing and switching.
Support the networking environment and administration of accounts (e.
g.
, user accounts, email, access management, VPN, etc.
).
Evaluate security opportunities and implement measures that improve Plymouth Housing’s security position and mitigate risk.
Plan, build, configure, design and troubleshoot LAN, WAN including routers, firewalls , switches, gateways, DNS servers, DHCP servers and related hardware, software and services.
Optimization - 20% Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability of Network systems Facilities Operation/Maintenance - 5% Provide network support for our collaboration hardware in our conference rooms and event spaces.
Provide networking support of all security systems including CCTV, Fobs, and panic buttons.
Leadership - 10% Coach and mentor Sr.
System Administrator, System Administrator and IT Specialist.
Contribute to Plymouth Housing future technology roadmap.
Prioritize and track completion of IT tasks.
Support escalations and determining plans to mitigate.
Documentation, Training, Administration - 15% Create and update the standard operating procedures and policies to ensure consistency for peers and employees.
Review and create detailed and impactful documentation for peers and user-base.
Update job knowledge and skill by researching current technology trends and participating in trainings.
Vendor Relationship - 5% Meet with vendors on requested services.
Partner with the Director of IT in evaluation of local telecoms to provide solutions to data and voice line issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience) Education: Bachelor’s degree in technology, computer science, or equal combination of education and relevant work experience.
Experience: 5+ years’ experience in the technology industry including end user support, 5+ years’ experience configuring, managing, and optimizing network equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Committed to working toward diversity, equity, and inclusion in providing services to tenants and working with Plymouth staff.

Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to optimally work with people from a diverse set of backgrounds.
Strong and systematic problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Proficiency with Azure VPNs and routing.
Experience with procurement, installation, and configuration of Network routers and switches.
Strong network understanding and the ability to troubleshoot routing, switching, and connectivity issues.
Deep experience with service management tools, network monitoring tools, escalation management, and alerts.
Ability to monitor network switches and routers and escalate to vendor when needed.
Experience using server and networking applications, Active Directory, end-user protection, AV/Malware, etc.
Solid understanding of OSI or TCP/IP model and knowledge of Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications: Nonprofit experience is desired.
Palo Alto, Cisco, or Juniper experience required.
