Senior Cost Accountant

Role and Responsibilities Specific duties include: * Preparation and review of the monthly cost reports and supporting transactions.
* Analyze accounts for posting errors and variances.
* Prepare appropriate accruals for payroll, raw product costs, sales costs, and overhead and fees.
* Review and reconcile accounts as appropriate.
* Calculate and prepare seasonal adjustments.
* Timely and accurate preparation of monthly closing activities like: * Labor allocation * Raw material accruals * Operating tax liability accruals * Packaging adjustments * Variance true-ups * Standard cost maintenance * Review allocations for BOM errors * Review production volumes and purchases for accuracy and timeliness * Review parts and supplies inventory and validate costs * Prepare COS reports * Work with the Alaska plants to ensure timely and accurate source documentation preparation.
* Interface with the external auditors as needed.
* Maintain item information.
* Maintain system Bills of Materials and routings.
* Post journal entries as appropriate.
* Help with timely and accurate filings for: * Annual COAR/EDR report * Alaska F/V tax filing reports * Required company permits, including maintaining the permit database * Various monthly internal reports * Special projects as needed * Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Education Requirements * Two to four years of accounting experience.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Cost accounting experience preferred.
* BA in Accounting Degree.
* CPA/CMA is strongly preferred.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $81,216.
