First Mode is seeking a leader in supply chain, warehousing, inventory management and emerging technology hardware supply chain contracting and execution.
As a member of the team, with broad experience in researching, finding, developing, and contracting novel hardware supply chain partners the Director of Supply Chain will manage an international group of Global Supply Managers, Buyers and Warehouse Staff.
The Director of Supply Chain will develop stage appropriate right size processes and error proofing to allow efficient scaling of ideation through to end hardware delivery throughout our international supply chain partners.
Position Responsibilities
Manage a team of Global Supply Managers, Buyers and Warehouse staff based locally and internationally
Mentor a group of international Global Supply Managers and be a go-to escalation path to close price and commercial negotiations to balance quality, cost and delivery terms oh high-risk components
Understand all aspects of Supply Chain to enable rapid adoption of new ideas, in all Supply Chain disciplines
Comfortable being a hands on player; no job too small mentality
Create a centralized procurement service function for all direct, indirect, Capex, MRO and other purchasing at First Mode
Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning with a dynamic lens
Create efficient and right sized processes and gates for RFI's, RFP's and RFQ's - defining commercial term and gated thresholds while ensuring internal customer satisfaction
Collaborate with with finance, accounting and engineering internal teams to ensure stakeholder needs are met with Supply Chain as a centralized internal service
Work closely with First Mode factory team and systems (PLM, ERP, MRP) while supporting implementation at First Mode and supplier locations
Drive a strong culture of first-time data quality to enable high change velocity decision making
Leverage past relationships and create new relationships throughout the supply chain to navigate an ambiguous New Product Introduction phase in the product lifecycle
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of experience in direct material global supply management
7+ years experience in emerging/start-up tech hardware
5+ years experience managing teams of direct reports
Preferred Qualifications
Diverse experience in emerging tech startups & scaled serial production hardware companies
Diverse experience in contract manufacturing & in-house manufacturing business models
Additional Requirements
Must be willing to travel within the United States and internationally to represent First Mode to its customers, vendors and partners (up to 30%)
Location
This position will be located at First Mode's headquarters in Seattle, WA and will be required to work in office >60% of working hours
Total Rewards
Base Salary Range: $187,200 - $280,800
