*DESCRIPTION *
EOSPACE is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to carry out end to end fabrication of optoelectronic devices.
The candidate will have a multitude of challenging responsibilities performing activities in a multidisciplinary, highly technical environment.
A desirable candidate would have extensive hands-on microfabrication experience working in a research and/or manufacturing environment.
Microfabrication experience may include photolithography, plasma etch and wet etch techniques, thin film deposition, furnace oxidation, cleaning and handling of semiconductor wafers and familiarity with metrology and analytical tools including, profilometry and microscopy.
Other duties for this position will include process development and operating, maintaining and modifying processing equipment and maintaining electrolytic plating baths.
*Key Activities will include: *
* Operation, calibration and maintenance of processing tools
* Direct hands-on fabrication of optoelectronic devices under limited supervision
* Handle and use processing chemicals and gases safely and according to procedures
* Carry out diagnostic analysis of processing steps using analytical tools including microscopy and profilometry
* Set-up, operate and monitor process equipment according to procedures
* Assist in new process or new tool development
* Perform processing test experiments and record results
* Perform regular preventative maintenance to assure processes are within specifications before running production wafers
* Report and document process problems and equipment malfunctions
* Ordering of laboratory consumables as well as non-stock items
* Other duties as assigned
*REQUIREMENTS *
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field or 5 years ‘hands-on’ experience in the fabrication of MEMS-type devices is required.
The successful applicant will be qualified in a relevant technical discipline, having a basic knowledge and understanding of science and be able to adapt to a wide range of different tasks and quickly learn new techniques and procedures.
Ideal candidates should also be organized and forward thinking and demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness in their approach to work and problem solving.
Must work well in a team-oriented environment.
Must possess good manual dexterity and visual acuity.
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills, good self-organizational skills and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Must be familiar with personal computers and software applications.
Must maintain a clean and safe workplace and comply with all health, safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
