We are a residential Repiping crew.
We are at customer's homes on a daily basis.
We have a team of skilled installers and are looking for a team leader Project Foreman.
A Project Foreman is the leader of the work crew.
It is a working position within a crew.
His responsibilities include.
Set the Example – The attitude of the foreman is very contagious to the rest of the crew.
A positive can-do attitude is required.
Respect to those around them including homeowners, coworkers, scheduling staff, management and salespeople is paramount.
Remember that each of these people are responsible in some way for our having work to do.
Be on time to each job.
Crew Management – Assure that company policies and protocol are being followed.
Assign tasks and duties in general and for each particular job to each member of the crew.
Give guided direction and training as necessary to assure that installation standards are met.
Customer Management – Morning walkthrough’s, customer inquiries, change orders and collections will typically be run by the project foreman.
When the scope of work between the homeowner and the salesman do not match it is the foreman’s responsibility to go between the homeowner and the salesman.
Recordkeeping – There are certain forms and records that are required for each project.
It is not imperative that these forms be filled out by the foreman, it is his responsibility to make sure that these forms are completed and saved for each job.
Collections – The foreman will collect payment at the end of the job as outlined in the payment summary.
Payments through Repipe Specialists will be processed by them or the office as soon as possible.
Payments to PEX Plumbing will be recorded and submitted by the end of each week.
Inventory – The foreman is responsible to assure that the proper tools, supplies, and materials are on hand for each job.
This includes getting the job trailer to each job.
It is not necessarily required that he place the stock order but he should be making sure that it gets done.
Equipment Maintenance – Maintenance to tools, trucks, trailers will be tracked and initiated by the foreman.
Safety – The foreman will be aware of safety procedures and situations.
The foreman will require compliance for safety procedures from each member of the team.
Quality Control – It is ultimately the foreman’s responsibility to make sure that installations meet acceptable standards for quality.
This includes customer expectations, standard practices, manufactures installation requirements and applicable plumbing code.
While the office may assign someone else to help field call backs it will be primarily the foreman’s responsibility to make sure that callbacks are handled in a timely professional manner.
Customer satisfaction – The morning and afternoon walkthroughs are important times to ensure customer satisfaction.
Point out any “extra” services that were performed.
Help them feel comfortable that they have received value for their money.
Protecting the bottom line – It is expected that a foreman’s duties be enacted with the company’s best interest in mind.
He should strive to make sure that each job produces a healthy bottom line.
This includes reducing waste, increasing productivity, maintaining tools and equipment, assuring that we are not “giving away” services.
Management experience is necessary, Construction experience is a plus, Plumbing experience is helpful.
