Overview: Painter - Full-Time InterContinental Bellevue is looking for an experienced Painter to work alongside our Engineering team and be a part of our opening property.
The “Avenue Bellevue” development is a newly constructed mixed-use hotel, retail & residence project "The Avenue" consisting of 365 luxury serviced condominium units in 2 towers opening March 2024, surrounded and in synergy with the 208 rooms and suite first class “InterContinental Hotel Bellevue”, convention center, several restaurants, 1,000-unit parking garage and extensive 100.

Every day is different, but you will mostly be: • Performing skilled painting functions for hotels or residential buildings, often working independently or collaboratively with other building trades on projects, repairs, maintenance, upgrades, remodeling, and emergency situations.
• Inspecting guestrooms, public spaces, and back-of-the-house areas to perform repairs, touch-up painting, or other miscellaneous tasks.
• Visually inspecting and detecting items requiring paint or touch-up, demonstrating considerable knowledge of various maintenance trades.
• Using basic hand and power tools with experience, and the ability to stoop, kneel, grasp, lift, push, and pull weights up to 200 lbs.
, climb ladders up to 30 feet high, and reach in all directions, often overhead.
• Reporting major repairs and items that cannot be fixed to the Chief or Assistant Chief of Engineering for further action if necessary.
• Assisting with minor maintenance and repair work, including painting, replacing light bulbs and fixtures (interior and exterior), windows replacement, moving furniture and equipment, repairing doors and gates, minor landscaping, and related upkeep and repairs, as well as simple plumbing and fixture repairs/replacements.
• Performing other assigned duties based on building, facility, and client needs, such as public area repairs, assisting with inventory control and supply ordering, snow removal (including salting/sanding), and helping with tenant moves.
• Properly and safely using and operating related equipment, tools, devices, and chemical/cleaning agents, including mops, vacuums, electric polishing machines, power tools and equipment, and special cleaning solutions to efficiently perform duties without harming floors, fixtures, individuals, or themselves.
Qualifications: What we need from you: Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and painting of hotel equipment.
Skill in the use of related tools (including both hand and electric tools).
Basic English language communication and mathematical skills in order to communicate with co-workers, fully comprehend job assignments and perform accurate simple arithmetic functions.
Ability to deal with problems requiring initiative and good judgement.
Ability to move and work throughout the hotel for the duration of the shift.
Previous luxury hotel pre-opening experience preferred, but not required.
Must be willing to work evenings or weekends (on call) in case of an emergency.
Effective listener and team player.
Practice the necessary safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications: Experience: Basic experience in Painter trades.
Minimum of one year hotel or residential experience preferred.
Previous luxury hotel pre-opening experience preferred, but not required.
Some cleaning experience and basic mechanical knowledge is preferred.
