Job Description: The Senior Construction Manager provides the onsite leadership, coordination, and direction for construction management activities for multiple or complex projects.
Duties include ensuring the project(s) are on budget, schedule, and the design fits the requirements for the contracts.
Will supervise construction management team, which may consist of Construction Manager(s), Assistant Construction Manager(s), Field/Project Engineer(s), field administrative staff and other project staff as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for providing the following services or for supervising the Construction Management team members who perform these services: Provides construction management services on multiple or complex projects Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements Responsible for engaging in early phases of project design with design team and conveying construction expertise in an integrated delivery approach.
Advise and support project management team with the following: Real time constructability review in design meetings Support real time alternatives analysis to support design decisions Coordinate likely construction means & methods (SWPP, ingress/egress, laydown, phasing, crane placement, etc.
) with progressing design Review of supply-chain constraints and procurement of critical materials and systems Assessment of labor market factors including availability, escalation, and potential labor disputes Assisting with managing pre-bid awareness campaign to increase bid participation and competition Responsible as onsite liaison with contractor and oversight of progress of construction Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities Manages project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures or as required by the client Conducts project meetings and provides meeting minutes, documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information Ensures contractors, architects, and engineers will adhere to contractual requirements on areas of safety, performance, project staff, and equipment Provides management of project logistics, organization and safety Ensures project closeout to obtain guarantees, warranties, and related provisions for turnover to the owner Ensures project team adheres to safety requirements Performs other duties as required to ensure project success Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required (extensive relevant construction management experience in place of education may be considered) Minimum of 9 years of experience as a Construction Manager and an additional 3 years of experience as a Senior Construction Manager supervising staff is required Strong oral and written communication skills are required Knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices are required Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with project-related Construction Management systems are required Ability to handle multiple contractors and multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously is preferred Registration as an Architect, Professional Engineer, and/or licensed as a General Contractor is preferred Certified Construction Manager preferred Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
The Salary range for this position is $140,00-$160,000.
